Engage with an inspiring and diverse network of professional artists, develop your practice and leave enthused about the world of dance! Professional Class - 4 -21 June We're very excited to be able to offer a host of Professional classes lead by our amazing visiting artists during the festival. Each class will give you an insight into the artist's personal practice and allow you to experience their way of working. Slow and Stilling – 11- 12 June Is it possible to reinvent time short modern life into a calmer culture, that celebrates reflection, collaboration and compassion? Slow and stilling, held in partnership with Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, offers an opportunity to explore slow movement philosophies through thinking, talking, writing, dancing and resting together. Salon Bham! – 13 June, 09.00 What does it mean to have a lifelong career in dance? Join internationally recognised artists, such as Liz Aggiss, Jonathon Burrows, Wendy Houston and Kerry Nicholls, for a stimulating day of moving, talking and sharing. Co-curated by Birmingham Dance Network, DanceXchange and C-DaRE at Coventry University. Dance Insights – 20th June, 15.00 An exciting evening, showcasing new creations by dx Choreography Award holders: Becky Namgauds, Rebecca Randall, Nathan Lafayette and Timber & Battery. Expect excerpts from dance in development, short and provocative presentations and a chance to talk with choreographers about their work. Art 50/50 Brexit Brunch – 23 June, 10.30 A sharing of research gathered from Birmingham communities which will form the backbone for a live experience presented in Autumn 2018 as part of the DanceXchange autumn season.
