5 Nov

Sara Macqueen

Sara’s class will focus on mobilising and challenging the body whilst finding positivity and individuality within technique. The class incorporates strength-based training within movement, releasing the breath, listening to and promoting wellness of body and mind and, most importantly, feeling good!

12 Nov

Polly Hudson

In this online class Polly will draw on elements of Skinner Releasing Technique as we navigate ways into our moving selves in the most appropriate manner for our surroundings and our current feeling state. Everyone is welcome and we will work at our own pace. We will notice how our bodymind connection, and our dancing, can support us to settle into arriving fully into each moment. The class is designed so that is possible to take part as an audio session if you prefer to.

Dorcas Walters

Dorcas Walters is a former principal dancer with Birmingham Royal Ballet and has been teaching Gyrotonic® & Gyrokinesis® methods since 2009. In 2019 she opened The Art of Movement studio in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, where she teaches a wide range of people from professional dancers to wheelchair users.

The Gyrokinesis® method was originally known as ‘yoga for dancers’ and this class will be a mixture of seated and floor work that combines flowing, circular and spiral movements with some deep core work, stretching and breathing techniques for an elongating, stimulating, all round workout that feels like a massage. Please have a stool (or chair), a mat, and if possible a towel that can be rolled up, or a roller.

26 Nov

Shelley Eva Haden

Shelley Eva Haden’s #stayhome class will take you through conditioning for the dancer. Starting with improvisation, the class will progress into work on strength, agility and control. Expect a vibrant work out that glides through the sweat and leaves you smiling for the day đź’¦

Keisha Grant

An hour of Flow as we move and tune into sensations.

 10 Dec

Katye Coe

Katye’s class for BDN this winter will work to provoke and amplify performance skills and physical attunement wherever the participant finds themself.

What if the space you are in is not cleared away in order to make room, instead that the body works exactly with and in the place that it inhabits?.

With detailed attention to anatomical and architectural detail and a lightness of presence, we can dance.
